The Saskatoon Airport Authority is pleased to present the Summer 08 edition of Airstrip, our e-newsletter, which delivers information about Saskatoon’s Airport to our customers and community partners four times a year.
Passenger StatisticsJune was another very good month for air travel at the Saskatoon Airport. Passenger traffic was up 6% over last June; and year to date traffic is up 8%, continuing the upward trend. June of 2008 marked the 50th consecutive month of growth. The additional air service capacity from both Air Canada and WestJet has been well-received by our Community. With the onset of the summer peak season, we expect our growth in seat capacity will help meet the demand created by the growth in passenger traffic. Saskatoon Airport Authority CEO Named Vice Chairman of Canadian Airports Council William (Bill) Restall, President and CEO of the Saskatoon Airport Authority (SAA)President and CEO of the Saskatoon Airport Authority (SAA) William (Bill) Restall has been elected first vice chairman of the Canadian Airports Council (CAC). Of note, this marks the first time the association's first vice chair is from Canada's small airport community. In addition, Bill has been appointed to the board of directors of Airports Council International - North America (ACI-NA). The CAC is the voice for Canada's airports and represents more than 50 airports across Canada, while the mandate of ACI-NA is to advocate policies and provide services that strengthen the ability of commercial airports to serve their passengers, customers and communities.
