The Saskatoon John G. Diefenbaker International Airport celebrated its 75 Anniversary in 2004. June 1st, 1929 was the day that the Saskatoon Airport was licensed for daytime aviation use making June 1st, 2004 the commemoration of the Saskatoon Airport's 75th Anniversary. In celebration of this historical event the Saskatoon City Council proclaimed June 1, 2004 as Saskatoon Airport Day.
